Frontline vs Advantix

Compare Frontline Plus Spot-On to K9 Advantix Spot-On

Monthly spot-on topicals are a common way of treating fleas and ticks on dogs and cats, and with the large number of products on the market, you are sure to find something that is right for your pet.

Frontline Plus and Advantix for Dogs are two popular treatments that have some similarities and some key differences. They both kill ticks, fleas and lice, and help to control chewing lice infestations. Frontline Plus kills fleas at all life stages, including killing eggs and larva before they can develop into adult fleas.

Frontline Plus is also available as a treatment for cats, which kills ticks, kills fleas at all life stages and helps to treat lice infestations. Frontline Plus for Dogs should not be used on cats.

Advantix is focused slightly more on the treatments of ticks, killing existing ticks and repelling ticks before they can bite your dog. Advantix may be applied more frequently, as often as every 2 weeks, for the treatment of paralysis ticks.

Frontline Plus for Dogs is for use only on dogs and puppies over 8 weeks of age, while Advantix for Dogs may be used on dogs and puppies as young as 7 weeks. Frontline Plus for Cats may be used on cats and kittens from 8 weeks of age.
